Iron Fist Magazine

Louise started Iron Fist in 2012 along with Will Palmer. She'd previously edited Terrorizer and would gladly never listen to a grindcore band again in her life. She's happiest when doing '80s Heart songs at karaoke, especially after a bottle of Baileys.

Get your Scandinavian leather ready, this weekend Desertfest tempt the Norse sexgods TURBONEGRO back to Camden, for their first London show in almost five years. TEXAN THRASHERS POWER TRIP PAY THE EXECUTIONER ON NEW ALBUM

We’ve got to admit something. We slept on Power Trip. We didn’t cover them with their debut album ‘Manifest Decimation’ back in 2013. We thought they were a hardcore band. They are a hardcore band, in ethics, culture and history, but they’re a hardcore band that plays furious thrash a … Read More

PLAY AND RECORD: THE KING FOWLEY/OCTOBER 31 MIXTAPE

We’ve been enjoying our recent C90 series. Okay, fair enough, it’s hardly original. PLAY AND RECORD: THE LEIF EDLING MIXTAPE

Leif’s a busy guy. Which is surprising since he promised us all he needed a break from his main vehicle of doom, Candlemass. While he’s stepped away from performing with the three-decade-old gloom godfathers, he still had time to record an EP with them this year (‘Death Thy Lover’, Napalm … Read More

ADMIRAL SIR CLOUDESLEY SHOVELL – KEEP IT GREASY!

Psychedelic is a word bandied about in so many press releases and reviews of late. It’s the go-to descriptor for any music that even hints at a pre-1983 inspiration. Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell are not psychedelic. They have no truck with your middle class drugs. They are a strictly pint … Read More

REVEAL – FLYSTRIPS

The wolves of Uppsala have not howled of late; a few years ago there was an unrequited frenzy where anything this secretive sect of friends produced was hailed as cult metal gold. It all but seemed that they batted off the unwanted attention and scuttled back to their batcaves and … Read More
